Gay overtone?

Did anyone else get the feeling of a gay relationship at the end other than a "dad/son"?

After all, it was supposed to be in San Francisco?

LOL, no, it was to show that Ralphie, the one that Mike knew and loved was gone. That wasn't Ralphie in front of him, Linoge had turned him aganist Mike and probably brainwashed him into thinking that Mike didn't care for him anymore, evident by Ralphie actually hissing at Mike like he did. Linoge had definetely possessed Ralphie with demons. And it also showed how in sync he was with Linoge for the most part.

You can tell who the small town people are when they think EVERYONE in San Francisco is gay. No one thinks of New York as the gay capital even though they have more gays per capita than any other city in the US.

And no, I did not get any gay vibes between the two and I'm not sure how you did either. Maybe your lucky Linoge doesn't read your mind in front of your townspeople?

That's a leap, haha.

Did the OP mention anything about San Francisco??

I am from NY and love gay people. So great that we have more. I never investigated it. You are weird.

How come gay guys think everything is secretly gay.

Are you saying that you think the OP is gay just because he asked that question?

How come homophobes always think anyone who makes any reference to homosexuality is gay?

Frankly, if you were even slightly intelligent or intuitive you would realize that a gay person wouldn't make that assumption about the final scene at all. You see, it's usually homophobic conservatives like yourself who never seem to have a clue. I've known maybe 30-40 gay people THAT I KNOW OF in my 31 years, and none of them thought everything was secretly gay. In fact, as I said, homosexuals are typically very in tune to a person's sexuality.

It's ok though. Don't worry about it. I understand that most people who are brainwashed as they are brought up never can really escape the bigotry their sad excuse for parents passed on to them. They didn't do it to make you a clueless fool on purpose. They thought they were protecting you. They didn't want you to be gay. They didn't understand how it works...just like you don't.

I hope you don't have any children. Try not to psychologically abuse them with the same brainwashing you endured ok?

Wouldn't that make him gay as well? I think he said that to make the OP feel bad. For bringing up the gay thing at all. Clearly the OP is a homophobe.

I think there WERE gay issues addressed during the movie. IE: When Lenoge talks about the 3 men who beat up and blinded a man for having a lisp and having curly blond hair and a strange walk. Stephen King often makes references to his anti-homophobic viewpoint through his works. Some examples are Nick Andros in The Stand and one of the main characters (can't remember the name) in Cell. As I said, I believe these references are meant to draw attention to the issue. Personally, I look back at when these books were originally written, and I think it's pretty awesome that he had the same idea that most people are only NOW beginning to see. Yet another reason he is one of my favorite writers. :)

It's weird that I never noticed before how often SK includes a nice anti-hatred scene. He REALLY did it in "Under the Dome"---a whole subplot with two lesbians, one of them with a kid, and the other one black! Testify, Stephen! haha

reply

I believe he did it in "It" as well didn't he? Weren't there two gay characters at the beginning of the novel? I'd have to double check, it might be "Insomnia" but I remember reading one his books with two gay characters and I'm pretty sure one of them is killed by the monster.
