RACHEL

I had the opportunity to watch this again during the Christmas holidays. Even though the character of Buddy's neighbor Rachel (a wonderful performance by young Julia McIlvaine) is nowhere to be found in Capote's short story (an invention of the screenwriter) I'm curious if she was based on Harper Lee. Buddy encourages her to become a writer.
