I don't get it...


All that because the son was gay? so no one could speak up? why couldn't the son, or the dad, or the lawyer, or the uncle, just say he was in the park with his friend when it all happened and tell what happened. he didn't have to add all the stuff about "doing stuff". If they were worried about what people would think you could leave that part out and explain him and his friend got jumped by a group of white guys. Am I missing something?

The son would not embarrass him father by going on the stand. He was too intimidated.

I got that, but why was all the attention to him being gay. He could have told the whole story without mentioning he was gay.
