Odd theory of mine based on the ending of 'Rasen'

Even if you want to discount Ring 2 and consider this as the sequel (which I do, because surprisingly enough I prefer it having read the novel), we all know that a Loop movie probably won't get made. Or even a movie showing the apocalyptic aftermath of Sadako. However, I have an interesting theory:

Okay, supposedly, the virus will infect people and they will give birth to a duplicate of Sadako. Well, the virus was going to spread everywhere. What if Eun-Suh (from The Ring Virus) and Samara (from The Ring) are some of the Sadako duplicates, with similar repeating in other places? If you think of it in this light, then The Ring Virus, The Ring, and The Ring Two are all three sequels. And when Samara's spirit is stopped in the well, that is Sadako's spirit actually. So the whole thing ends there.

I know that Rasen isn't really considered canon at this point, but I like it more than the bland Ringu 2, and I hate to see it end with that sort of cliffhanger. Also I like to think of all the Ring movies as just one entity.

What do you think? I'm sure there are holes and all...but it's just speculation. =]

Why does Sadako hate?

Hmm, interesting theory, although i dont think the filmakers intended it like that. The problem is that all three version follow such similar storyline with regards to characters, etc, that i think its far too coincidental to work like that.

They probably didn't know Rasen would be a flop at the box-office and were going to make LOOP. It is possible that the man at the end isn't Ryuji, but Kaoru, and intends to kill Sadako.

It's interesting, taking the entire ringu/ring universe into one continuity. IMHO, it would seem that Sadoko's soul is copying itself with each generation acting independently as vectors to spread the curse virus. The stopping of the Samara aspect would be a problem with continuing the curse virus along its original vector in the US, and the thwarting of original Sadoko in Ringu2 would be minor setbacks, with another copy her soul safely in the reborn Sadoko, plans would be back on track for the inevitable supplanting of mankind with her new race of curse-people.

Well 9 years after you made this post we're getting "Rings" so...maybe we will. This is the age of the internet and millions of people worldwide can see the tape...excuse me...a YOUTUBE VIDEO of the tape. If that doesn't spell apocalypse I don't know what does.

That's actually a pretty clever way to say all film adaptations of The Ring are in continuity with each other. I wouldn't mind it, but like you said it would depend on "Rasen" being in continuity, and that seems to have retroactively become a sort of spinoff with its own sequels.
