What breed is Dogmeat?

I want to get a dog that looks likes Dogmeat, and was wondering if any dog experts know what breed he is.
Maybe you know some one that knows about dogs. Just load up Fallout and show them The Vault Dweller's best friend.
In the game, it says he's a mix, so if you can work that out, I'd be very greatfull.

He was obviously based on Mad Max's dog in The Road Warrior but I don't know much about dogs so I cant tell what race(s).

I think dogmeat is a mongrel breed, so it would be difficult to say for certain. From the look of the fallout art, i would say it has German shepherd blood, mixed with a feral strain.
