Something that was brought up in the trivia...very creepy implications..

What the eff are you talking about? It could've been something his character shared with another (like maybe the cheating ex has the other half or something) and simply isn't explained and it would just mean that they are both missing the other half of their hearts (speaking in terms of symbolism) and are meant to be together.

How in the hell would it mean they are brother and sister? Like it's some rare artifact and every store on freaking earth doesn't carry those. Maybe you are just a sicko.

Another part of the trivia says that Steve's part was supposed to be played by Brad Pitt, but that didnt happen because Brad broke up with Gwyneth before production began. Imo, the director hinted at that by having Steve wear the other part of the broken heart, since his role was supposed to be played by Pitt...

It wasn’t explained in the movie and it wasn’t in the original draft of the script but was added at the request of Bruce Paltrow, but its explanaiton was cut from the film due to time contraints. Billy (Speedman’s character) found the necklace and always was on a search for his soulmate, his other half. Pretty corny, I know!
