Deserves a special treatment

This film is very underrated as it is, but back when it was first released, it was practically ripped apart by the studio, who basically overrode director David Nutter's strong objections to keep it as it was. As a result, several scenes, which added so much more development and depth to the film, were unecessarily cut out of the film, resulting in a very short and average film. I still really enjoy the released version, but with all the deleted scenes and alternate ending, it could have been much better received, I think. If there was ever a film that deserved a special treatment DVD (with the cut scenes and original ending put back into the film), this would be a prime candidate. Hopefully one day this film will be released as it was originally meant to be shown.
