The sign on the scoreboard of the outdoor stadium where the game is played is called Palmer Field. Who is Palmer?

Palmer is Charlie Palmer, Hank Azaria's character, who wrote the article that appears in Sports Illustrated.

His name IS Charlie Danner. Most likely someone selected "Palmer Field" as sounding sufficiently 'sports-arena-ish'

yeah but Palmer who? that is an interesting question tho frankly i never noticed it til now ... is it jim palmer, hall of fame pitcher and jockey underwear model? i'd think a long underwear model might get more attention in mystery ...

should have been Dead Bailey Field ...
