Normal people are pushovers, but if you run illegal dogfights then you're a tough negotiator. I assume there's some wining and dining when you're a free agent, but today you have to enter a draft in order to get into the league or sport you want. Once you're past your rookie contract, then one can become a free agent. Are there any major team professional sports not like this? Maybe golf, tennis or NASCAR is different.
