How did you discover VIP?

My first experience of VIP was a few years ago. It was a lazy weekend afternoon, and I tuned into this UK TV station called Bravo. Bravo basically showed stuff like Xena, Fear Factor, Star Trek and other 'weird' American programming. Anyways, when I tuned in this day VIP was on. After watching the show for only a few minutes, I loved it!! I'm not sure which episode I was watching, but Val and the gang were at some type of boat-yard and fighting terrorists.

Bravo stopped showing VIP a few weeks after the first time I watched it, so I forgot about it. Until I saw online one day that the VIP boxset was coming out, and then I got so excited!!

I love my boxset, and I am working my way through the episodes. My Mom sent me it for my Christmas present and I love it, my favourite present!! There is nothing better than coming home after a hard or depressing day at work and watching a few hours of VIP - perfect entertainment!!

Hopefully Sony release the other seasons of VIP on DVD, as I am sure there is demand.

My VIP expierence, was actually several years ago. My sister(older sister) she bought this excercise video, now this is before I knew who Natalie was...So it was really corny and such, but she liked it. Then I heard about this show VIP was coming out , so I was like hmm let me takes a look at it precioussssss..I did and I was hooked. Sure it was corny, campy and stuff... but it was hilarious. Dustin Nugyen didnt hurt either...*drools...Anywho I watched it eveyr Saturday afternoon at 5pm, before Buffy the Vampire Slayer re-runs and Stargate reruns. Then it got more erratic, like it would be on at like 2am in the morning on SUnday. Sure enough I would stay up and watch it. Nothing was better than watching an episode of VIP, and spending an hour olging I mean..er..well you know... it was a nice break for all the other shows I watched at the time like Buffy, and Angel. Concidently every time I see any of them now Im like "Thats Tasha " or "thats Nikki"..I would probably call them by their character names in real life too....lol...Or in Dustins case just squee like an insane fangirl, thus scarring him for life and permanatly distroying his ear drums...lol

I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the strength of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship. But it is not this day. An hour of woes and shattered shields, when the age of men comes crashing down. But it is not this day. This day we fight! So my friends, my brothers, I bid you rise Men of the West!

Same here except replace Buffy/Stargate with Next Generation/Deep Space Nine re-runs. This wasn't a mandatory watch for me though. More like something I'd leave on while playing games/doing homework.

They play it on Spike way too much. Especially since I'm in Canada and we have different programming due to rights and such some of the time. Usually if somethings on in the US that Canada doesn't have the rights for they play VIP. This can frequently be an all day marathon type of affair.

reply

I agree that the marathons get out of hand. Spike TV in Canada is really lame. I don't know if the commercials are the same in the states, but those things are so painfully repetitive.

If you're serious, you lose.

reply

Unfortunately, we don't get VIP in the US. Because of a rights issue, VIP is shown in Canada when a James Bond flick is on Spike here.

reply

Meh.. I discovered it on TV here in Sweden, about 2 months ago. It's just terrible! It's on now when I'm writing this.

Which episode is on?

I discover V.I.P about 9 years ago. They played it on skyone on saturday afternoon. I remember it well because I refused to go outside between 12-3 not to stay out of the sun but so I could watch The New Adventures of Superman, VIP and Beverly Hills 90210. Oh, those were the days! :)

I watched the original season on my local fox network when it was in syndication. The next season, they moved it to a different time and I was unable to keep up with it after that. But I caught it on SpikeTV some years later now and then.

I just randomly discovered it on TV. I remember buying the PS1 game for this when I was a young kid. Lol, it was fun!
