Series 4,5 +6

Excellent and good quality to the end! Brilliant actors only i think some of the older characters were so strong and good that they stole the thunder of Mr& Mrs.Howard in the last 3 seasons!Sorry Maurice Colbourne(Tom Howard)died in season 5.A loss to the show and to his real family!
Glyn Owen was excellent, very entertaining! I'm sorry he died in real life.Dulcie Gray very good and also Tony Anholt,Steven Yardley,Susan Gilmour,Kate O'Mara,Patricia Shakesby and all the young actors.
Like Tenko and what i've seen of The Brothers,a great programme!

Just read your review and comments on Howards' Way Series4,5 & 6. Totally agree with all your comments. I watch this excellent series from 1985 thru to premature conclusion in 1990. So many great actors and performances.

My favourite of the younger actors was the superb and undervalued Sarah Jane Varley who played the sexy and beautiful Sarah Foster. This lady had it all - a real femme fatale in my view and such fire and passion beneath that ultra cool exterior. She was, and still is, Iam sure,a Rolls Royce amongst woman. Way ahead of any super model or princess. She lit up every scene she did in HW - whether it be with Stephen Yardley, Eddie Highmore, Maurice Colbourne, Mike Loney, etc. Sadly, She seems to have left the acting business - a great loss in my view. Even worse, Sarah Jane seems to have gone Stateside. In the space of sixteen all-to-brief years she went from playing Little Nell in ' The Old Curiosity Shop' 1975 to the Katherine Wagner in the kung fu opus opposite Jean Claude van Damme - 'Double Impact' 1991 and then went away to do other non-acting work. HW had some high powered Ladies in it's six series and Sarah Jane Varley was certainly one high powered Lady.I wish the BBC would put this series on as a repeat on Sunday nights - it would certainly get a big audience Iam sure, but the Beeb always make the excuse about expensive repeat fees and actors residual payments - a very poor excuse considering the poor programming they waste so much licence fee payers money on. I recommend you watch all six series on DVD and see Miss Varley for yourself ( series 2 - 4 inclusive ) What a Lady !!! Cheers for reading this far.
