In Defense of the Time Travel Episodes

Everybody seems to hate the time travel episodes. However, I really enjoyed them. Season 4 was very dark and depressing, and the tone of the entire series changed. However, once we got to the time travel episodes, everything lightened up again and there was some humor. Even SALLY made it back into the series. It was also great to see Julie again, and Felicity even just ACTED like she did during the first season-- much more awkward and dorky. And, she STILL ended up with Ben, which seemed to verify that the bond they had really was unbreakable.

I don't know, I thought they were kinda fun...

I agree with you. They were funny and fun! By far my favorite episodes.

I agree. The time travel episodes are fun. A change from the usual storytelling the show had done. Fun final act, so to speak.

They are fun but they are so off balance from the series. Knowing they are "filler" cuz another WB show was axed and after the real series finale (ep17) was done, WB told JJ to add 5 more eps to fill the void of the other axed show makes me feel better. I didn't discover this til recently and finally understand why 5 episodes of scifi, nonsensical happenings exist with a show that was just about fictional college kids. But since Ben and Felicity ended up together in both finales, I am okay with the fun nonsense that is 18-22 :)

I do not understand them. Elena? Dead or not? If she wasn't dead, how come Ben did cheat? It is a nice idea, but silly and confusing.

If Elena was Dead than Why was she at Noel's and Zoe's wedding. I thought she died before Her and Broke Up

It was fun seeing another twist of the situation. Loved the end.

I loved the time travel episodes! I thought they were a lot of fun, and don't fully understand why many people didn't like them. I loved the Twilight Zone episode too!

Me too, loved the atmosphere of these 5 episodes though they're nonsense.
It's the atmosphere we used to fall in love for the series in first place.
Also, Megan had a history of magic -remember the spell before season one's finale? , I know it's minor thing yet it was magical and fun to think of.
I love it. Just hate that Elena had to die at the beginning.
