Godfather, Jedi, all revealed something that we thought was true that

wasn't true.

Its been many years since I've seen 'The Godfather Part III' so can someone tell me what it was that the final Godfather revealed?

Also, how many horror trilogies are there anyway?

Most horror films have far more than just 3 movies in a franchise. Scream itself turned out to not be a trilogy.

Very good. But brick not hit back!

Can't speak on The Godfather part

As for horror movies and trilogies: not many that I know, they're usually just sequels (if any). However, despite Scream 4, I believe the first three films in the Scream series are still considered a trilogy (as with the Star Wars series)

That Francis Ford Coppola can't make a bad movie? The writing of the whole scene is pretty dodgy, starting with the "horror trilogy" shenanigans. Even if you can name a few horror trilogies, to which ones do these rules apply to? Evil Dead? No. Poltergeist? No. They could have saved themselves some confusion if Randy just said "final chapters", which would fit at least, but I guess they wanted a cool buzzword.

It's obvious Jedi was a reference to the Leia thing since Sid finds out she has a sibling, but I can't wrap my head around what Godfather meant. Maybe that James Caan/Sonny had a kid? But it wasn't exactly a twist.

I'm no Star Wars buff, but isn't finding out that Darth Vader IS Luke Skywalker's father as opposed to having killed him also part of the trilogy stipulation?

As for Scream, it's also finding out that Billy was not the real mastermind behind Maureen's murder. Not exactly 'planned', but I'm pretty sure that's what it's supposed to be by the series

That was in the second one, though.

But Randy was talking about trilogies on a whole.

Still, if it didn't happen in the concluding chapter of that trilogy, it probably isn't the same. I thought that event took place in the third movie, I was mistaken. I haven't seen anything Star Wars since I was young

No, he was talking about revelations that happened in the 3rd movie of a trilogy.

"...Jedi all revealed something we thought was true, that wasn't true."

reply

Well, in Jedi we find out that there is another Skywalker...Leia.

Yeah, but what about Godfather 3?

reply

Never seen any of them.

I can't really defend the scene, I would have taken it out completely.

What I want to know is ...

If Scream 4 was the start of a new trilogy, what were we going to think was true that would turn out later to not be true in Scream 6?
