Sidneys Income

So, in this installment Sid is in a badass country house with seemingly a lot of land and pretty good security...how?

I can GUARANTEE that working for a women's crisis line is not lucrative. You do those jobs because you love them. Not to get rich.

I'm sorry if it was mentioned, I just don't recall.

reply

I don't remember it ever being mentioned.

Perhaps her dad paid for her?

Maybe she got loads of money from the films made off of her life story?

It could be she won the lottery?

Or she sued the film makers and won a multi billion dollar law suit.

There is the possibility Sidney inherited the property and land from a deceased (not her mom) family member.

House sitting?

Squatting?

Between Screams 2 and 3 stuff could have happened.

Pay off from Gale?

reply

Lol. Wow! You have every idea that's crossed my mind X2. That's interesting about what if she made money off the movies or something?

I also like inherit. Because I could see that.

You've given me tons of ideas to imagine what it might be. Thank you!

I was kind of driving myself nuts circling in my own mind. So it's cool to hear reasons that I didn't even think of. Thank you!

reply

My absolute pleasure.

Another possibility could be that Sidney was put into wit sec.

Only problem with that is would her da be allowed to visit?

Would Sid be permitted to work as a counsellor?

reply

I 100% ran with that, but exactly. What are the parameters? If you leave WP, do you get to still stay in the house?

Because she would have violated the terms by going back home. And yes having people over.

I'm going to check my copy for commentary. It would be fairly quick because we see her house early on.

I'll let you know if I have any commentary and what they did or didn't say. :-)

reply

Omg. I wrote this SUPER long message about how they didn't talk about the house, but some facts they did bring up were cool. I didn't know them. But I wrote them all out and I pressed something on my phone and it disappeared. Insert crying emoji.

I'll say one thing, they said Jenny McCarthy was SUPER professional. She was good with the crew and always prepared. Her fiancée was on the set every day. He's a producer or something.

Sorry. I can't write it again. I'm too mad. Lol!!! Fat fingers!!!!

reply

Good to know / read, halle.

Thank you.

reply

My pleasure, this time. :-)

reply

Did you see her place in the first film? Her family had some dough.

reply

That's true. But I also felt like it was an out of the way country house- a little, buys a lot there. Were the roads dirt? You know.

I only say because I grew up in a small city in NM. Housing was already cheap AF in the city. But in the country, $250,000 can get you a McMansion.

reply

I've wondered the same but never thought her getting money from the movies...or a lawsuit

She didn't want the movies made, so if they made them anyway without her consent would they still have to pay her?

I don't think other people of true life crimes who have films made unless they are involved in the making of it somehow get money from them.

I assumed the home and property was something her family already had,or her father rented or bought it for her...they obviously were wealthy.

But if it was something they had in their family, the killer could have tracked her down easily..of her father purchased or rented it then someone could have hacked his bank account to see where his money was going,

reply

See, that's what's got me going. It's supposed to be a secret hideout that no one is supposed to find. Unless the dad is a secret spy, all it takes is a search to find any new property. So...then she couldn't register under her name either I suppose.

You only make money if you sell your story/are involved in making it, like you mentioned. Unless you sue for some of the profits, which, you're right. She wouldn't do.

It bugs me they didn't even admit they glossed over it in the commentary. Or what idea they had in mind. But they admit it was a chaotic rush job, so I guess what's to be expected? I still ended up liking it.

Farewell to our message boards! I feel as though I should post all my questions for everything I watch before I have no one to ask. :-( Sad.

Thank you for reminding me about the killer being able to track her! That's such a good point. Maybe it's a place they bought cash and it's in someone else's name. Or the pseudonym she uses while working?

reply

I will miss the boards too.is there anywhere else where people can discuss movies and tv shows like this?

reply

Not that I know of. People talk about Reddit? But it just looks like a mess. I don't understand it. I wouldn't be so mad if we had alternatives, but there's nothing like this. Where you can talk directly to other fans of whatever you're watching?

Prob since the election, it got devisive. ?

If I hear anything in the next 2 weeks, I'll let you know. Would you mind doing the same if you get a chance? I thought about posting something, but Idk under what listing someone would be the most likely to see it in time and also, a group most likely to know it? Because you imagine depending on where you ask, they might have places dedicated for people who like that genre.

I might like Sex and the City, but I don't want to only talk to fans who like it.

I'll look up a couple of cult classics and see the response time as well as the quality of responses on their message boards. I feel like those people are the most dialed in to stuff like that as they're dedicated. Good luck to both of us!

IMDB, I will never forgive you for this!!!!

reply

Okay. I think I found someplace. Honestly, I REALLY didn't want to write the info down because it's a link, etc with all the letters and numbers after. But, if you look on the message board of Breaking Bad. It's under something general about 'boards' or something. It's maybe 2nd or 3rd from the top. He included a link. It sends you to the Breaking Bad section of whatever site he is talking about. But it's worth a try. I prob shouldn't have wrote this until I tried it out. Insert thinking emoji.

reply

I came across a couple forums..nothing seems as ser friendly and organized as IMDb so far though,,I'll miss it so much

Thanks. I'll check them out. Maaaaaannn. That was my favorite part of here! I'll miss them dearly as well. I dread the first time I go to post something and it's not there. Insert crying emoji.

If I hear about anything cool...I won't let you know! Insert the emoji that is yelling in vain. I guess everything I can find before Feb 20th, I'll post! Good luck to us both.
