We had to watch this at school. I thought it was terrible. But the funniest thing in the whole movie was where the alcoholic abusive dad comes home and yells "I SLEEP WHERE I WANT!!!" Me and two of my friends got a detention for laughing really hard. I think someday I'll start a whole mini-series with him in different scenarios proclaiming that he sleeps where he wants. Example. Int. We see our protagonist Drunk Redneck Dad sleeping and drooling all over a playboy he brought in. A librarian scuffles her way over LIBRARIAN: Sir? It's closing time and you can't stay in the library sweetheart." DRUNK REDNECK DAD: I SLEEP WHERE I WANT!

I haven't seen the movie either (but I gotta read the book this summer for school) and that is the funniest thing ever. Good idea witht the mini-series. =)

I take it you were lucky not to have a drop dead drunk in your family. It may seem funny and pitiful but after day after day of tending to the dead beat you won't find it funny. Try cleaning up barf and cleaning up pee off a dirty drunk one day. Trust me, it isn't funny.
