Here's the big hole in this story

The $40,000 "drug theft" Nick took part in was staged and never really happened. So he never got his $10,000 share and right there he should have known something was fishy.

I believe he thought that his friend just took of with the "drugs" and the money, to keep it all to himself.
___
Rory: "Say something to make me hate you!"
Lorelai: "Uh, go Hitler?"

reply

He couldn't get $10k in cash right away, since the $40k stolen wasn't cash - it was drugs. He would have had to wait for the drugs to be sold, so it made perfect sense for him to not have had his cut right away.

reply

Supposedly his friend ran off with the drugs they ripped off when he got scared and couldn't get a hold of Jimmy.

The big drug dealer was only going to make him pay back the money he was supposed to get out of the deal.

Which is kinda silly, if you rob a big drug dealer, he isn't going to just want the money or drugs back... let alone just your share... I think that they would kill any and all responsible. I don't think that drug dealers can really have it get out that it is OK to rob them and if they find out who it was all they are going to do is ask for the money back.

reply

How about a real dealer would FIRST have wanted to be reimbursed and THEN killed or seriously hurt them ?

These are business people after all.

Biggest hole in the story is Legally Blondes baby hole constantly being slammed.

Why didn't nick ever say "I didn't steal any money?"
