I definitely remember the controversy surrounding this show. But I have to say that this is hardly the worst show in t.v. history. I think that honor could be spread around to shows like The Jerry Springer Show, or Morton Downey Jr.'s crapfest. The almighty American Idol tries to pass itself off as an actual show that pursues true talent and for the most part I suppose that it is. But why do they show the lousy acts that audition? The same reason people watched them on The Gong Show. It's funny and it gets ratings. The Gong Show was hilarious and politically incorrect as hell. That was the point. If you want to hear people who can sing go listen to the radio
