Mya the Bee book Published in 1912!!!!

I was shocked to learn that Maya the Bee has been around for a very long time - there was a Maya the Bee book published back in 1912!! There was also was, incredibly, a "live action" version of the story filmed in the 1920's but it's best known in America (if at all) by the Japanese anime series of the 1970's that didn't get around to the USA until circa 1990 on Nick Jr and then didn't air very long. What memories I can recall of the series I would say it was a wonderful cartoon for very young children with gentle stories and appealing characters.
