Jim Hawkins - the most boring Disney male lead ever?

I apologize to Jim fans, but I really do think he's boring. While I do like this movie a lot, I've never seen a more personality-deprived male lead from Disney. Yes, I know that he had a broken past. But I still thought he was dull as a rock. I'm sorry. Anyone else agrees?

Most boring male lead would have to go to the prince from Sleeping Beauty. Jim, OTOH, goes through an identifiable character story arc and development over the course of the movie and is very sympathetic for teen viewers.

Supermodels...spoiled stupid little stick figures mit poofy lips who sink only about zemselves.

I don't remember Sleeping Beauty too well, but at least the prince (forgot his name) from Sleeping Beauty got to be all heroic and fight a dragon. The prince in Cinderella was just looking for a bride (though under pressure from his dad), fell for a girl purely based on looks, and ... found her again. Did he even have any dialogue outside of "how will I find you?" and such after the dance scene?

I didn't see the sequels so I don't know if they expanded on it or not, but man, he was yawn-inspiring, and I even thought so when I was, like, 6 years old.

I'd say that Taran from the Black Cauldron was more boring.

I found him to be very handsome and funny. I cried because he doesn't have a father and I don't have a father, so that moment he shared with the pirate really touched my heart. Jim was so sweet and loving, I really enjoyed him a lot but when I was a kid, I didn't even give this movie a chance. I saw the previews when it first came out and instantly thought "hellz nah, looks boring" and so I never watched it until now. I am 20 years old now :o

I think Auroras prince Philip is the most boring. He doesn't even talk except in the beginning and when its time to fight the dragon, he has the help of the 3 fairies and he suck so bad at fighting. If the fairies were not there, he would of surely lost.

Nah, I'd say that honor goes to the princes of Snow White and Cinderella.

Prince Phillip of Sleeping Beauty had more personality than those two.

yeah, but he was still boring.

and so was jim

I agree While Philip would go into the "Prince Charming" Archetype like the ones from Snow White and Cinderella, they did seem to work to give him more of a personality. Not the most deep or complex character ever or anything, but it did seem like they were "evolving" so to speak in that regard. Heck, it also helps that he actually had a name! LOL

The movie itself was kinda dull in spots. I thought it was ok in the beginning and the end, but drug a lot in the middle. He was a part of that, I agree, but there were a lot of uninteresting characters. Amelia, Delbert, Martin short's annoying character.
