Grrr! 2- things: the lack of dialouge

The lack of dialogue when Cpt Davidson ios captured by the apes is so frustrationg. Realising that they ALL speak English, surely ANYONE with half a brain would let it be known that YOU are intelligent, can argue a point and explain where you come from?
2nd point: Roths overacting ruined it for me, he was more like a vicious DOG than an ape.

Unlike the original version, all the human slaves were smart. Besides, would they believe him? And even if they do, how would that change the situation he's in? Maybe those questions have rational answers, but in that particular moment, too many weird things have happened and he still hasn't soaked everything in.
