A petition for a sequel!

I love this movie, it's one of my favourites. I know a lot of people don't, but are there enough fans of this version to petition for a sequel? It can still happen, Mark Wahlberg isn't that old that it won't be believable, they can still do it. I love the fact that make up was used for the apes, the set designs, the score, the atmosphere of it all. As much as I was entertained by the new movie, I just cannot stand cgi, I prefer looking at 'real' characters on screen. There probably isn't enough hype for this to get a 2nd movie, but I so wished they had done one, I feel really gutted.

Sure. I wouldn't mind.

Good luck with that considering the franchise has already been rebooted and is having a sequel being released later this year with Gary Oldman and Jason Clarke.

2014: The Year of Godzilla

What makes you think that would do a damn thing besides waste your time? This aint a kick ass or donnie darko, dvd sales didnt skyrocket to everyones surprise to become a cult, sleeper hit. The numbers speak that this is not a very highly appreciated film whether at release or years after release.

I don't always post on IMDB.com, but when I do I make sure I'm hammered.

Maybe this happens further down the time line of the new reboot.. lol

Anyway, they will never go back to monkey make ups anymore. CGI has taking that need away, although the CGI doesn't look half as good, and will date poorly.

Of course they can still do it, just do it in a seperate universe. Still keep the other one going and do this one as if it's a completely seperate story unrelated to the other one.

Would the public accept to Ape franchise's being releases together?

Fine by me.
