Ape-Book

This entertaining Tim Burton film featuring a stellar cast offers a more artsy look at the dystopian vision of an Earth dominated by evolved apes exhibiting behaviors as foolish and savage as the humanity we've come to know and mistrust and criticize.

I like to think this Burton project represents a Hollywood (USA) interest in dystopian paranoia as well as free will intellectualism.

Do you realize how many people surf mindlessly on Facebook? We're all dirty apes!!

It'd be funny if the Apes made a 'Facebook'-type structure in their dystopian world...

APE 1: We should create a profile-sharing public interface.
APE 2: Yes, perhaps an 'electric bulletin-board'!
APE 1: All people would be invited to post of course.
APE 2: However, all slander and slang against the government is forbidden.
APE 1: Do you think we apes have the wisdom to create such 'social control'?
APE 2: Apes are no more naive than tadpoles...or humans!
APE 1: In that case, we might as well invite businesses to advertise on this board.
APE 2: Yes, we'll call it 'Greetings-Wall.'
APE 1: Only the President and the Supreme Minister are allowed to post nude photos.
APE 2: Yes, all other exposure-photos will be considered heresy and anti-social.
APE 1: What about the threat of nihilism?
APE 2: Nihilists will need to trade, and no one can trade without obeying the board.
APE 1: Our civilization will be a beacon of confidence!
APE 2: We must balance altruism with betrayal.
