Soundtrack?

Does anyone know if a soundtrack for the film was ever released or can provide a list of the music that can perhaps be found elsewhere on other albums or compilations? Thanks.

No soundtrack was released. Most of the music listed in the credits can be found easily online -- with the unfortunate exception of my favorite piece, that great, ethereal guitar melody that opens the film and reappears throughout. I think I figured out who it's by from the credits, but I can't find any info about the artist online, let alone the actual song.

Thanks for the reply, that's unfortunte about the main theme as it's one of my most desired finds from the movie (though it's probably the easiest to rip from either the main menu or the end credits when it's played in its entirety). Have you found the song that's playing while Dafoe is in the strip club watching as Asia Argento is making out/having a stimulated threesome with two other strippers? I think it may be titled "Don't Kill Me" with Argento herself on the vocals, though I'm not too sure. Ferrara really needs to put out his own album because he's a great musician in his own right in addition to obviously being a great filmmaker.

Actually I was referring to a different ethereal guitar tune, the one which plays over the film's title cards and very first images (e.g. Dafoe seen in grainy footage exiting a building; it reappears a bit later in the film when Dafoe and Argento are taking a swim). The piece you're thinking of, the one which plays on the DVD menu as well as closes the film, is a bit funkier and features other instruments (whereas the one I'm thinking of is mainly guitar-only). I'd guess it's by Schoolly D, but I don't know.

All I could find about "Don't Kill Me" is this bit from the film's soundtrack page:
Don't kill me
Written by Harper Simon & Abel Ferrara
Performed by Asia Argento & Harper Simon
Published by Rose Releasing, Ltd.

Really wish there was a collection of these songs somewhere.
