Apparently it's bullshit. Besides, I kinda believe that these queers would come up with matrix and then act on their beliefs by changing their genders because err.. matrix.

At the same time - would I want to see matrix 4? The story concluded quite well in matrix 3, so this is definite milking of the franchise and is akin to making titanic 2, so my answer is no.

Apparently NOT

reply

Well of course they are! They've got nothing better to do - no directing projects and their production company is shut down.

The real question is, has anyone offered them a budget?

reply

its official

Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss and Lana Wachowski, the co-creator and director the The Matrix, are returning to the fold for a fourth installment of the seminal action franchise.

Wachowski is set to write, direct and produce the new feature project with Reeves and Moss reprising their roles as action heroes Neo and Trinity.

Warner Bros. will once again team up with Village Roadshow for the project.

“We could not be more excited to be re-entering The Matrix with Lana,” said Toby Emmerich. “Lana is a true visionary—a singular and original creative filmmaker—and we are thrilled that she is writing, directing and producing this new chapter in The Matrix universe.”

"Many of the ideas Lilly and I explored 20 years ago about our reality are even more relevant now,” said Wachowski. “I’m very happy to have these characters back in my life and grateful for another chance to work with my brilliant friends.”

Wachowski is producing the film together with Grant Hill. The screenplay is by Wachowski, Aleksander Hemon and David Mitchell.

I wish I could say it's surprising, but the reboot/sequel trend continues. Not sure where the plot will go, but alright. Hopefully it will be better than the third one.

reply

hopefully they'll take into account the overwhelming negativity of the Matrix sequels (and maybe The Last Jedi as an example of what not to do when bringing back an iconic character :)

reply

I hope so too, but still I'm not sure what they can do with bringing these characters back in much older versions especially since they died. It just seems weird to reboot this series with characters you killed off in the previous installment, but yeah I get it, it's the Matrix you can do whatever.

It's like if Darth Vader or the Emperor showed up in the next SW movie, oh wait....

reply

Maybe it'll ignore the sequels like Halloween 2018 did lol

Ultimately theres no way it can touch the original, but surely it can't be as bad as the sequels

reply

I thought the story was complete.

reply

ly f'd up by the crappy sequels.

reply

................................................................................. why.

Have the wachowskis done anything else that succeeded? Not that I know of, although I don’t really follow their career. They had a brief moment when they succeeded and were the center of attention, and now are obsessed with trying to get that back.

reply

They wrote and produced V For Vendetta and did Cloud Atlas

reply

Thanks. I have not seen V for Vendetta. Was it any good? I did not think much of cloud atlas.

reply

V for Vendetta is amazing.

I liked Cloud Atlas. I loved piecing together the characters with the timelines.

"Sense 8" a Netflix show. Could have been amazing Sci-Fi but they decided to drown it in lame "on the nose" LGBT propaganda. The lore was solid, if you skip all the gay stuff, it's really great albeit short. LOL.

reply

Of course, the excitement comes from the possibility of the movie being about gender binaries.

The Matrix (1999) and World on a Wire remain the only Matrix movies in existence as far as I'm concerned.
