Aaaah, that second half of 90's vibe...

We sure miss it. Especially since the '00 decade has been a pretty sucky one, which made this world we live much worse.
Good, entertaining movie anyway, would have needed a bit more of a closure.

there was a lot of stuff I hated about the second half of the 90's, but one thing I do miss is it seemed like a far more optimistic time

All it needed was a petite female with really short hair and a ska music montage.

oh, god, yes. i agree wholeheartedly with the whole "far more optimistic time." i miss those days. really, really, truly miss them. i felt like anything was possible back then.

I echo all of your sentiments...it felt like such a better time in so many ways. >,o,<

i know.... sigh. i felt like the whole world was in front of us.

It's so true lol. And the worst part is, most of us are probably in our 20's and waaay too young to be this cynical. There was an innocence about this time where it felt like the world was nicer, people loved their fellow man more, the future was bright etc. I think there was a sense that it was only going to get better from here, we had finally arrived at "the future;" then everything went straight to hell lol.

Everyone in this thread sounds so jaded, but I sadly agree. I remember waking up in the mornings and having such a sense of possibility.

This thread is so laughable, a bunch of myopic, navel-gazing 20-somethings waxing nostalgic for a time that was not appreciably better or worse than now, or any other time in any other decade. You're romanticizing the period because you were children then, and you had no concerns or responsibilities weighing on you, and, indeed, there seemed to be more possibilities because you hadn't become locked into the rigors of adulthood. 10 years from now 20-year-olds will be looking back with fondness on 2015 the same way you do for your childhood. This is nothing new. The only thing that's changed is you.

I'm 36, and the 90's were by far a better, calmer and more peaceful decade than our post-9/11 world or the 80's. Not all of it, mind you (I loved the music and the childrens' entertainment of the 80's much more; beauty standards were better in the '00's), but overall, the world just felt right in the 90's. There were fewer crises facing America and our quality of life was better (unlike now thanks to the great recession). The 90's really were a much more optimistic time now. Now, people are relatively more jaded. And in the 80's (another good decade), people just wanted to feel good regardless of consequence.

Oh yes, "feeling good regardless of consequence," certainly something to aspire to. That you're championing one of the major social, political, and economic failings of the 1980s is quite troubling.

I can't believe anyone is debating the above poster's statement. I too an in my 30's and have worked full time from the mid 90's on. How can anyone even compare then to now? No metal detectors to get into a theme park. No clear bag requirements at sports arenas. No full body scanners where they can see your private parts to get on an airplane. Entertainment was affordable. In 99 I could deliver pizzas for 4 days and afford to take my girlfriend to Disney World for a day and get a hotel room on property and gas. $200 covered it all with food. Now it's $145 for a 1 day ticket per person and parking. There were places to go. Storefronts weren't shuttered. My friends would go out instead of hanging on Facebook. My family was doing much better then economically and rent in NYC was 1/5 the price now. Major cities were still affordable. Oh - and you had privacy.

That 90s vibe is a comforting feeling filled with nostalgia and was probably the only good thing about this movie. Seriously I got sick of this movie after a while and just wanted it to end...
