on dvd in the UK well sort of

I recall,back in 1976 when this came out,that it got such a critical bashing that it was withdrawn.
I have seen the vinyl soundtrack in shops but not often and not cheap.

But today I stumbled over a dvd called THE BEATLES AND WORLD WAR 2,it has cds containing 24 of the 30 songs from the original film.

But it is NOT the original film,a booklet in the package tells us that the original film was butchered by the film company and disowned by the original director Tony Palmer who has produced another version for this dvd,it is not clear how much of the original visuals are in this new version.

But this version is fun,the extracts from newsreels and war films are well chosen,I am a bit of an anorak when it comes to World War 2 so getting my hands on this made my day.
