Love the film but it was so sad

When I saw this film, I knew the ending. I still watched it and had a box of hankies just in case. The film was brilliant ! There was no overacting from anyone. John Mitchie was so good that I wanted him just to persuade George Adamson to move area which did not happen and he was murdered for just being so subborn. With all his good work I am glad the work carries on in Africa. It's a shame that African wild life is be is still being destroyed by greedy, self seeking, money grabbing, people whose only gain in life is profit. Still that is humans for you !

The best films are made in an intelligent format.

There was a price on both George's and Tony's heads.

If Tony had been at camp when George was attacked, he'd be dead too.

BTW, the depiction of George's death is not 100% accurate. George was in the Land Rover, when he took a bullet through the spine. He died instantly.

That last call to the lions that George Adamson made just before he died was heart-breaking. I was very impressed by John Mitchie who played Tony Fitzjohn. He is in 'Coronation Street' now and he gets a lot of flak on the imdb boards for that tv show but he is so good in this film.
