The rest of the movie is kinda painful.

"It's Minnie Pearl's murder weapon."

Any movie that has Nathan Lane at a female strip club, is not worth watching. Val Kilmer was eye candy, but it pretty much ended with that.

Yes, Nathan Lane playing straight, and in a strip club, is just totally unrealistic, even pre-coming out.
And yes, Val Kilmer is a total eye-candy in this movie.
