Timeline Theory

If you try to wrap your head around the continuity issues of these films, you're likely to go insane. So before I go nuts, I'd like to throw this out there to see if anyone thinks this would make sense.

Is it possible that Curse takes place sometime after Legacy? Ignoring the fact that Legacy showed some footage of 6, there's no mention of Tank or the events of 6. Maybe that's why we can't figure out how McGrew purchased them at an auction, because they have yet to set that storyline up?

Just trying to make sense out of nonsense. What do you guys think?

That's a new one. Would make sense had LEGACY not featured it's footage, but you're right and other than showing it, the film basically doesn't cover where it could fit into the timeline. Sometimes you just need to ignore and create new events just to fit it all together.

Maybe these movies are made by a producer who cares less and less about quality or any sort of logic as the years go by, and thus trying to make a continuity or timeline out of them is a fool's errand.

Just my theory.

You don't know how right you are. David Pabian, the writer of PUPPET MASTER II, revealed in an interview that Charlie didn't care if the film fit, as long as he got story credit. Credit for something he didn't do.

It was also Charlie that wanted Leech-Woman killed off, but it was Dave DeCoteau that kept bringing her back. She's his favorite.

I totally agree. I have always been a big Puppet Master fan, even as the quality of Full Moon films seem to degrade. But after watching Axis of Evil, it's apparent that the Filmmakers care less about the product than the fans do, and that's never a good thing. A shame, too. Axis was such a wasted opportunity.

I'm watching the PM movies, in order, for the first time, and after just finishing 'Curse of...' I agree. It doesn't help that a poverty row studio was making these movies. Bottom line is we want to see the puppets in motion, not a lame love story and short cutaways of the puppets lifted from other movies.

Loved that Tank spent the whole movie carving wood and the puppet he's transferred is, apparently, completely made of metal.

The Tank puppet wasn't metal at first, I think it was changed later in production because it looked better. I've seen a pic of Magrew with the original prop. It looks like a plastic toy or something.

Or Magrew built the metal droid. The movie never made this clear.
