This is a great superhero movie, I wish that it had a sequel. It is pretty funny at times, really funny actually. I saw it at the drive in and I loved it back in 1999 and I think it gets better with each viewing. It was ahead of its time.
shareI always found it to be a very clever and well written parody of superhero movies that was probably before it's time. It sickens me how underrated this movie is and I think the people who hate it probably missed the point. I lose it every time I watch the scene where Shoveler says "We need a guy who can shoot stinging foam that can blind you" or something like that. The fact that these guys are wannabe superheroes with ridiculous and uncreative "powers" is hilarious.

It is pretty funny how this movie satirizes a genre almost ten years before the genre exploded. Heck, X-Men hadn't even come out yet.
