Blue Raja was just as useless as the 'heroes' they were making fun of

so in the pool scene when they were searching for new heroes to join them, They seemed pretty useless and just weird,
None of them could probably fight or be of any help, they were kind of useless if it came to a battle.

But How was Blue Raja any different? he couldn't fist fight, he couldn't beat up any bad guys,
the only power he had was throwing forks, but how did that help anyone? (Besides Helping Roy go up to fight Casanova.

To me Blue Raja was just as pointless as Dane Cook's hero was. The thing about the other members is that they could at least get into a fight and win,
Spleen had a power that would affect his enemies,
Bowler had a real weapon, Shoveler had a real weapon,

I mean, Why did Roy and the shoveler even team up with Blue Raja in the first place is what I wonder....

I thought the original trio was all pretty useless. If any of them won a fight it was luck or cause the plot called for it. The shoveler had a "weapon", but it wasn't even designed to be a weapon and he wasn't particularly good at fighting with it. Like you said the spleen had a power that was actually pretty effective in the movie. Bowler had a magic bowling ball, no matter how trivial a weapon, was still magic. Actually if blue Raj would throw knives the way he threw forks as the shoveler suggested he'd be pretty deadly.

Anyways I kind of thought that was the point of it.

well a shovel is a pretty good weapon, even if he didn't know how to fight, a hit on the head would make his enemy fall (which happened at the end) I dont know a shovel is stronger of a weapon than a baseball bat even, he did get his butt kicked, but he could at least hurt people.

Roy had no power, but he would try to fight them at least, he threw a couple of punches here and there. I guess in a fist fight he could at least punch them once.

But Raja lol, besides throwing knives he had no fight capabilities. At the beginning they don't even need to hit him, they just picked him up. and then at the end Roy beats up Frankenstein and Shoveler beats up like 7 guys,
Blue Raja even at the end does nothing to anyone. It's like even in the final battle after they trained and got better all Raja was useful for was to create the fork stairs Roy used to climb up.

Like, at the end Roy and Shoveler did beat up the bad guys, their fight techniques worked. But Blue Raja never had any fighting technique.

Yeah, but, he's not StabMan, he's not KnifeyBoy, he's the Blue Raja...

You think fork flinging is useless? You ever been stabbed with a fork? It bloody hurts. And Blue Raja explains why he doesn't throw knives: they're too lethal. Forks hurt a lot but don't cause significant injury. They're for incapacitation, not for killing.

true... forks hurt,

But he never hurt anyone in the whole movie lol. everyone else injured the bad guys somehow, Blue Raja was the one person that didn't hurt any of them

You could make the same argument for most of them. Actually, of the original trio, The Shoveler took out Tony C and Mr. Furious got rid of Casanova.

If you're going only by the ones who actually caused damage, then you'd only add The Bowler to the group. Spleen only knocked people out (unless he could control how nasty his gas was), Invisible Boy's only contribution was turning off the switch to the laser eye, and Sphinx cut a bunch of guns in half.

reply

yeah that's true but they made fun of spleen before and avoided him and they only accepted invisible boy out of pity. And because they needed all the help they could get.

But Blue Raja was not only an original member but Mr furious and shoveler respected him and didnt consider him lesser than them.

so it is kind of weird how furious and shoveler even got together with raja in the fist place.

Well, except for that whole Captain Amazing thing.

I don't even hate him. I liked him. I Like that actor a lot.

I just think it is ironic that they were all rolling their eyes with Waffle Man and Pencil man, and all the other silly heroes, when Blue Raja could have easily been one of them if he wasn't in the group originally.

Its actually pencil head; and son of pencil head(which is much sillier than man). Now to the reply; I think that's one of the points of the tryouts(probably best scene in the movie), they are all acting so high and mighty despite the fact they get their asses kicked all the time. I agree that a lot of the other heroes would be at least as good as them, if not better. The blue raja does lock Frankenstein's limo doors saving the gang from getting shot up, so he's not completely useless. And forks do hurt, spoons on the other hand, not so much.

reply

And forks do hurt

Yep....ask Mr Furious.

The way I saw it, that was the point. They were acting as if they were real superheroes and that everyone who auditioned wasn't worthy. But really, Roy just got angry, Blue Raja threw forks badly and The Shoveler just used a shovel as a weapon.

reply

yeah but I keep saying it, Roy actually beat up people and won against the main villain.
Shoveler hurt a lot of people with his shovel at the end. that WAS a weapon.

blue Raja didn't hurt anyone, and didn't defeat anyone lol

reply

The Blue Raja could throw forks great distances with amazing and deadly accuracy. You try throwing a fork the way he did and have it stick to a wall.

By Grabthar's Hammer...what a savings.

reply

the power was good for Roy to use forks as a ladder, but that's the only thing he did,
the only help he gave.

nowhere else in the movie did he help or stop crime or anything

reply

Let's see what Blue Raja did:

During the attack on the bad guy's car, he locked the doors so the bad guys won't get out of the car and shoot them up with guns. He provided a makeshift ladder for Mr. Furious to climb up to Casanova. He accidentally killed Captain Amazing, who in reality was a jerk who was completely willing to let out a psycho like Casanova Frankenstein just to add excitement in his life.

Yeah, he didn't make much of his skills during the time of the movie but I'm pretty sure he had improved since then. Too bad this movie never got a sequel thus we'll never see if he had improved or not.

There's a deleted scene on the DVD where the Blue Raja takes on The Suits with a spoon and some glue bombs. So there was a scene where he directly takes on and defeats some bad guys. It just ended up on the cutting room floor.

That was the joke-- the three of them were inept, but judging other equally inept heroes as beneath them. Then they recruit people with actual powers, while still acting as though they are capable heroes.
