the Europe/Germany track?

I was surprised to see that there were millions of threads on missing songs in the movie, but none on the Germany track in movie. I tried to figure out which one it is, but I'm left clueless. In the 2001 season there was a race held in germany on the Eurospeedway Lausitz, but Driven was filmed in 2000, besides, there is little to no resemblance in the track layout in the movie and in Eurospeedway. My only remaining guess is that it is an improvised circuit based around an old oval (because the asphalt looks decayed) and some roads around a forest area. Does anybody know which track it actually is or is my guess correct?

I have not seen the movie lately, but my recollection is that most of the racing footage was from circuits in the U.S. or Canada, posing as Germany. A bit of a disappointment that they could not afford to take the crew to the real venue. You see background details such as traffic signs that are clearly not German, and emergency vehicles that are pickup trucks, all telltale signs that this was not shot in Germany.

As for the Eurospeedway, it is an oval (rare, for Europe) near Dresden. It carries the sad statistic that in its first year, Michele Alboreto was killed here testing an Audi prototype for LeMans, Alex Zanardi lost both his legs in a Champ Car, and a track marshal was killed in a touring car race. But it is basically an unknown circuit, because oval racing does not interest too many people. The prime German race circuits are the Nurburgring near Koblenz and Hockenheim near Heidelberg (both roadcourses)
