Final Play Of The Game Doesn't Make Sense (Spoiler)

When Coop steps to the plate there are two out and Remar is on base. He misses the shot but the Felons go for the double play and that keeps the ball alive for Coop and Remar to make the conversion.

Now my question is, Why would the Felons go for a double play when the game would've been over with Coop missing the shot?

Nice catch!

Edit to add: I would first like to reiterate the spoiler alert. I just watched this and the Beers actually had only one out at the time of the shot. It is confusing because Al Michaels makes it sound like the game is over if Coop misses when in actuality they could have had another shot. The Felons were looking to avoid that extra shot with the double play.
