Why Does Everyone Hate This Movie?

I love it. I just saw most of it on Starz again for the first time in years and I really enjoyed it. It was funny it felt like the TV show the casting was spot on. I honestly have no idea why people hate this movie so much.

I know I didn't like it because it tried too hard to strike that perfect silliness of the original series. And also, in my opinion, the casting wasn't quite right. I wasn't particularly fond of Robert De Niro or Jason Alexander in their roles. Much of the dialogue from any of the characters was very poorly written, IMO, and the whole 'rocky can't fly anymore' subplot seemed rather pointless to me.

Because it's a piece of cr*p, badly done, needlessly done, that besmirches a beloved cartoon classic. You must be extraordinarily easily pleased by all the bright moving pictures on your TV screen.

It's a cute movie. There are too many haters out there in the world.

reply

Yeah I liked it too. I thought it was sweet and funny.

I thought it was great! Takes me back to when I was in my teens watching the original!

reply

Because it's excruciatingly lame and dumb.

I just watched the movie on HBO. It wasn't a bad movie it was worth watching once animation for Rocky and Bullwinkle were subpar. I like the Robert De Niro and Alexander and Russo and their bad guy rolls. Was a fun movie. It's too bad it bombed. They even made a wink towards who framed Roger rabbit.

The directing is bland and uncreative (often just flat out awful), the lead blonde girl can't act for half a cheeseburger, and the writing is beyond terrible. The whole "this joke isn't funny" shtick is funny the first few times, but once you get into the third act and the writers are still using it, it becomes shockingly unfunny. It's a bad way to disguise crap writing as genius writing, but its holes start to show once you look at the non-funny stuff, such as the story. I'm not sure who thought Rocky & Bullwinkle walking around Oklahoma would make for a thrilling adventure, but someone obviously liked it. Because when I think Rocky & Bullwinkle, I think Oklahoma.
