This show was almost as bad as "Rocko's Modern Life"...

...when it came to sexual innuendo.

There's many children's cartoons out there that are notorious for having sexual innuendo ("Rocko's Modern Life" is one), but I'm surprised that "The Angry Beavers" isn't notorious for its sexual innuendo. Granted, it didn't have THAT much sexual innuendo, but still...

Can you explain this?

Two beavers dressed up as PIMPS on Nickelodeon, the first KIDS network:

This really doesn't need an explanation:

I know that's probably mashed potatoes on his face, but it looks like...something else:

I know that's sweat that's on his blanket, but it looks like...something else:

So that's what "spoot" means:

What is Norbert hiding?

What is Daggett hiding?

What does this look like?

Look at Norbert...

Then look at Daggett:

What does it look like they're doing?

And here's some clips from the show showcasing sexual innuendo:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZOLgYa_arE

I know many children's cartoons have their fair share of sexual innuendo ("Spongebob", "The Fairly Oddparents", "Doug", "Rugrats", "Regular Show", etc.), but this show was almost as bad as "Rocko's Modern Life" when it came to sexual innuendo.

Are there any more examples of sexual innuendo from this show?

reply

There is innuendo in nearly ever cartoon so the parents don't loose their minds. My mind is pretty far in the gutter and even I have trouble with some of your examples.

reply

I thought some parents WOULD lose their minds by hearing sexual innuendo in children's cartoons!

Back in the 90's, there were a few kids who weren't aloud to watch "Rocko's Modern Life" and "Ren and Stimpy" because of all the sexual innuendo.

I was a teen when when the show came out, my parents didn't give a crap. They supported my love for the show. To be fair they didn't watch it as much as I did, and I didn't know of sexual stuff, but hey I was at the age when I found out more about the dirty stuff by accident or stupid kids in middle school :D

I will say I didn't know about any of the sexual jokes they put in the show until I got much older but I find it hilarious, and it's a wink I think to us older fans.

As for the pimp outfits? I don't think the animators/writer meant any harm to it. Just being silly. I as a kid even as an adult didn't take it as a pimp. On the show Scrubs, you see JD and Turk dress up as pimps when they're not.

LOL I think we just get our minds in the gutter so easily. I was reading an old thread on my old username of how our minds are just poisoned now these days because of media and everything. Yeah I've seen that .gif before. I am not at all shocked anymore by some things really.

I think they just were mocking Nickelodeon in general because they always tell the cast of the beavers to be "kid friendly". The episode Kid Friendly is basically them throwing shade at Nickelodeon for that.

LMAO @ " I swear it's not what it looks like". Looks someone was taking something innocent out of context. Maybe if they made the sheets look wet and not a different color, some would still take it out of context? Reminds me of how some fans think the episode Slap Happy is masturbation joke. Especially how Norb reacts to his dad saying how Norb slapped his tail in the bathtub all the time before he left home. Norb responded by saying he was just washing his tail, HE SWEARS!

http://cheezburger.com/8579383552 In response to that, spoot means *beep* damn, and other colorful curse words that Nickelodeon gets butt hurt over. Plus I think it's just a silly random word the creators came up with. That is not what you're thinking that is on the wall LOL. Watch the episode. :P

http://cheezburger.com/8579386368 Pretty sure his dick isn't on his stomach..

http://cheezburger.com/8579376128 Once again, someone taking it way out of context. These pics are honestly making me laugh :D

I did watch that episode recently of Norb sucking on the wooden leg, yeah I took it out of context but hey, the internet and TV/movies corrupted my mind.

I think with adults it's hard to avoid adult jokes at all costs. We're just perverted. I do often wonder how far would have taken it if Nickelodeon didn't pin them down to the floor as much. :D

I think Nickelodeon are the ones with the perverted minds maybe?

Beach Beavers a Go Go was going to be called Beaver Beach (Something to that extent).

"Specs Appeal" is probably a parody of the words "Sex Appeal".

I often joke with a friend about the episode Soccer I Hardly Knew Him. You see Norb doing something in the bedroom under the blankets and I'm thinking, "Whatcha doing there Norb?" :P

In Moronathon Man, when Barry thinks he's milking a bull, well he's obviously not, he obviously grabbed something else..ya know since bulls don't have udders...

I heard for the episode Endangered Species, they didn't want Norb completely without hair, they wanted his bottom half to be covered up by fur. He was getting electricuded because the scientists are spootheads for no reason.

In Sans a Pelt, well, you can figure that out.

In Lumerback's delight one of the haircuts the Lumberjack's gives the beavers is a poodle cut and their fur is covering their crotches :P

Also check this out, a site with even more dirty jokes from other cartoons. http://offbeat.topix.com/slideshow/17529/slide4

I don't think kids are smart enough to know what joke is supposed to be just silly or risque *shrug* But I don't know. Depends on their up bringing and what not I guess. Some parents may not care and some may care to an extent and some are just way over protective. I've seen parents get butt hurt over the show because their TODDLERS can't watch the show. LOL....it's not for toddlers...rofl.

I actually found a guy in the comments section of a Youtube video and he said some really stupid idiocy.

This is what he said:

I agree with you 100%, and I (really) miss the 1970's, 1980's, and 1990's. I even liked the Early 2000's (2000 - 2004) better. I also did predict that the 2020's will be worse than the 2010's just like you did!

Before I even watched this video! Why I hate the 2010's:

Inappropriate jokes in Kids Movies and Cartoons (I'm looking at you Ice Age 5 and Modern Spongebob!).

This person said he misses the 1990's.

In the 1990's, there were many children's cartoons and kids movies with inappropriate jokes. Hello, "Rocko's Modern Life"? Or what about "Animaniacs", "Ren and Stimpy", "Cow and Chicken", "Johnny Bravo" and even "Rugrats", "Doug", "Hey Arnold!", "Batman: The Animated Series", "AAAAHHH!!! Real Monsters", "Freakazoid", "Dexter's Laboratory" and, yes, "The Angry Beavers" (which itself sounds like a porn movie or an STD reference, it even was spoofed on "Robot Chicken" when a guy was renting a DVD of 'The Angry Beavers' and the clerk and the video store said "I hope you realize that's a children's cartoon, not a porn movie") were children's cartoons in the 90's that had sexual innuendo and inappropriate jokes in them.

"Who Framed Roger Rabbit" is an iconic "kid's" movie from the 80's that had a lot of sexual innuendo in it and "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" was a kids movie from the 90's that had Esmeralda pole dancing.

And please, "Spongebob" during its heyday in the late 90's/early 2000's had lots of inappropriate jokes.

But that's not all, he said some other stupid crap too, but I think this is the dumbest thing he's said.

And it isn't like kids are going to get the sexual innuendos. It's something that will make adults laugh.
