FEMINIZATION + THE DEATH OF MALE BONDING

The only real problem I had with the film is that using women in space as fighter pilots draws away attention from the film and ruins the commarderie of the men. This is why there a few women fighter pilots and they are mostly for show. This could have been a great film but they got tangled in the love interest crap which took up valuable time and ruined the plot.

Well, the movie as a whole is good..but still dont understand why they ruined a good game for sake of a midiocre film

It's not PC to say so, but I more or less agree with the OP. I will say that it wasn't quite as cringe-worthy as it usually is when they shoe-horn in the "Tough as nails" female into these things, and I give most of the credit for that to actresses Saffron Burrow and Ginny Holder.

'Cause there's thunder in your heart... every move is like lightning!

The OP is an idiot. Why can't Women be fighter pilots? I don't think Saffron Burrows was appropriately cast though and I wish a different female was picked. Plus it's a character in the games... why wouln't they cast the female Wing/Squadron commander as *a female*.

Now I do kind of agree that they shouldn't have rushed the romance crap and there's one particular scene near the end that derails the pace of the plot. In fact, they were actually supposed to be stopped from kissing in the script. (They don't get together until the second game which take place 10 years later)
