Is this the Movie that proved that Video Game Movies will alway sucks.

I mean how could Chris Roberts *beep* this up. Wing Commander is one of the best cinematic experience in video games. It was the one game that proved that FMV Games could work. It had great actors and a great story. Especially Wing Commander 4. So How do you make a movie out that. One suggestion is not to replace every actor that in game. Mark Hamill and Thomas F. Wilson should have been in this film. It would have been better than watching Freddie Prinze Jr. and Matthew Lillard act like morons. And for a guy who wrote Wing Commander 4. The story to this was super weak. I mean if you cant make Wing Commander work as a movie. Then what the chance of there ever being a run of great Video Movies.

There's a ton of factors in why the movie ended up the way it did, from limited budget, to studio medling, to rushed preproduction schedule, and so on. Due to many factors, the movie isn't the movie the director set out to make, of which a quarter didn't even make it into the movie. Video game based movies can work well when they aren't strictly adaptions of the game plots. Games and movies are very different mediums and require a different touch. Directly translating a game plot to the screen wouldn't necessarily work either. But I don't think it's been proven one way or the other yet. It just hasn't had the right kind of people pushing for the right elements to make it work yet.
