I was 11 years when this series premiered in my country and it was aired in a morning kids program with an irregular schedule so i lost the interest within two years (or one, i'm not sure).

It lasted ten seasons. The show's classic look changed after season 7, though.

It does get confusing since the seasons all had wildly different episode counts.

S1: 5 episodes
S2: 13 episodes
S3: 47 episodes
S4: 39 episodes
S5: 22 episodes
S6: 16 episodes
S7: 27 episodes
S8 - S10: 8 episodes each

193. 'Planet of the Turtleoids' counts as a two part episode, even though it's always been shown as an hour long special.

Here in Australia, I loved it when it first came out. But then the syndication episodes just kept repeating and I thought the series was over and no new ones where going to be made. So by 1992 the fad had worn off and kids where onto something else's. I went to the USA for a couple of weeks in 1993 and saw episodes of this series is never seen before running one after the other on s marathon. Then I don't think I even heard of the turtles again until that CGI movie. Then going nostalgia in my late 20's and wanting them on DVD to relive, I couldn't believe it lasted 10 years!!
