Ive just rewatched this movie after getting a copy free in the daily mail and remembered how i used to wonder about a certain scene in the movie..
When McGregor is walking into the bar with George after the drive in his new red porsche (this is the scene that leads to the "bottom exposure") just as McGregor enters the bar he is pulled back by a trader who says "Hi Nick" and McGregor responds... is that trader the real Nick Leeson??? cos im damn sure it is....
Leeson was released from jail a month after "Rogue Trader" premiered (June 1999) in London.

I worked at Barings during this period and must have seen everything filmed, written about this. I have watched this scene with my girlfriend using the pause on the remote and I am utterly convinced that this is Nick Leeson or someone made up to look like him. Also the guy next door to him looks very like the real George Seouw. If he was in prison at the time, is it not possible he was on day release for cancer care ???

Don't think Nick is in this unless he busted out of jail for it.
However the real Danny Argyropoulos (Nick's Cockney 'Kinder Surprise' loving trader mate) is credited on Imdb as one of the traders.
Danny doesn't play himself though , because that part went to Lee Ross who is quality (if you've ever seen the footie film 'I.D.' you'll know what I mean - Gumbo!)
