Were any of the supporting characters real?

Or were they composite characters? I'm talking about the management characters like Ron Baker, Simon Jones, Tony Hawes, Peter Norris and Brenda. Or were they directly based on single individuals with their names changed to prevent libel suits?

So they were! I wonder if the real Ron Baker was an Australian prick. I bet those guys would be pretty pissed off if they watched this film, it didn't make them look very good.
