Something I have never understood...
Why is "Dog" a puppy before he drowns, but is an adult after he is resusitated?
Was the beginning of the movie a dream?
"Don't worry, I'm a gun club member, I'm taking these rookies downtown".
When he falls into the sheep dip (as an adult) he reflects back on his life as a puppy. His reflection/dream ends after we find out how he nearly drowned as a pup (and this is how he met jess, who also nearly drowned being thrown into the river in a sack). His dream ends and the scene ties in with him being resuscitated as an adult by Wallace (after the sheep dip incident.
