could've been alot better.

i liked the movie, but they shouldve made the humour the same as in the comics.
besides that the
problems were
- everyone has aussie accents when they're actually kiwis
- horse (the cat) wasn't the same, he was too muscly and his meow was disturbing, and his character was not as funny as in the books:P.
- pongo sounded like a 40 year old trying to sound like a little girl, but the script suited her.
- there was no prince charles (aunt dolly's corgi) :(

otherwise, the animation was well done, and its a cartoons worth watching, but if they took the same ideas and humour as what was in the books, it would've been alot better.
what do you think?

I agree with a lot of that. But then Murray Ball was trying to wrap his head around the idea of a movie instead of a comic, and had to then work in conjunction with the writers and producers to make it.

In the interview on the DVD (where we actually get to see Finn, bless him) Ball originally was thinking of a TV series which would have left more time for jokes and the humour to shine through. Not to mention that this movie was done on a shoestring budget. I think it served its purpose. I had the absolute pleasure of meeting both Ball and Finn, and both were wonderful characters in their own right :)

I hold such a great deal of nostalgia for the comic. I actually shed a tear when I read the last volume of comics knowing that it would be the last due to Finn's death. The picture at the end of volume 27 was so heartwarmingly bitter-sweet: Dog and Wal walking off into the distance to their effective comic-character "deaths", with (the also deceased in real life) Horse following behind... beautiful.
