I have vague memories of a cartoon from my youth.

I remember so little about it, but when I randomly stumbled on this I felt it might be the one I was trying to remember.

Was there ever an episode where Ulysses, or another character perhaps, met his mother? Who was dead, or something? And he couldn't look at her, or he'd die, or some such thing?

Please help this has driven me crazy for years.

Hmm, no, nothing like that happened, I'm pretty sure. Must have been some other cartoon.

There was episode which saw Ulysses or his son dreaming of earth and seeing ulysses' wife, but she disappeared before they could speak...

But the part where they cant look at her sounds more like 'maduca' with the hair of snakes, and you couldnt look at her toherwise you'd be turned to stone
