Can anybody who knows this series well tell me if the episodes continue from one another or is it ok to watch them in a completely random order?

It's completely OK to watch it randomly. It's every episode for itself.
shareWell, if you want to get really nit-picky, there's some stuff like Mr. Knox and Lady Baden-Baden's marriage, that is seen better if you view the episodes in order. Overall though, every episode is pretty much self-contained.
shareYeah. And stuff like Schaeffer opening the Blue Spruce Cafe. I like those eps after the ranger and the kids disappear better. Could you imagine if they didn't go away? "Where's Schaeffer dad?" "Oh, he's out at his restaurant serving the little forest creatures." :)

What eps did you find? I could tell you the order of eps. Did you get dvds, or are they on youtube? I've considered getting dvds, but there are only 9 eps in a set.
I love in one ep when Lady Boden-Boden starts working at the cafe and turns it into a snooty, expensive place and Bert comes in just wanting a peanut butter sandwich. She puts a tie on him and asks if he has reservations. He says "Yeah, I've got a few."

That's strange that they're numbered that way. Episodes 40 and 42 are from 1990 but Episodes 48-60 are from 1989. The one I was just quoting from above was "A Catered Affair."
