As of today, Detective Conan had reached 500th episodes and 22 seasons against 415th episodes and 19 seasons on The Simpsons. And also, this series have 12 movie sequels against only one from The Simpsons and I don't know when will gonna stop it. So, is this series had already made it to the Guinness World Records?

shareEven though Simpsons has been around longer than Conan. Conan had like more episodes per year compared to the number of yearly episodes for Simpsons. It did surpass many of the short ran anime. But it does place itself on the scale of anime with more than 400 episodes.
I haven't done any research on what is the name of the actual longest living anime.

I don't know about other countries.
I was surprised after someone else told me about Doraemon being around longer and had more episodes than Conan did. Course I'm only familiar with half of the titles you just listed there.

i'm not a simpsons fan but i'd like to point out that sometimes they're just numbers..i thought of china while i was reading the posts..mass production.. >.< anyway, i'm still at ep 143 and it's still fun to watch.. ^_^ plus there's a lot of factors affecting longevity of shows..
