Quite bizarrely, you can get the entire 'Alfresco' output, including the pilot episodes on a two disc Region 1 DVD.
There appears to be no British release at all, so if you want to view this essential part of Fry & Laurie's early career, any US DVD retailer(Amazon.com for example) seems to have copies.
Network are releasing it on 21st January 2009. And about time too!

Back in 1999, BBC1 did a special on Ben Elton and they showed a clip from Alfresco where it shows this supposedly 'cool' person and Stephen does a voiceover, saying that he is actually a prat (lol).

shareI just stumbled across it in a discount store and it's hilarious. Being Canadian I was not even aware that the show existed but the strong cast made it worth giving it a try and it ended up being a great purchase.
