I don't understand what she was trying to do with her voice. It sounded like Donald Duck at times. Other times it was so nasally I couldn't understand her. I had to use captions.
I LOVE Cicely Tyson. She's in my top five favorites of all times. I think she did a great job, I just don't get that voice she was using. It brought nothing to the story, the character, or the viewer.
Totally agree about her voice. Did you notice she hardly moved her lips throughout the entire movie? Like watching a ventriloquist without a doll.

shareI went to Wikipedia to research this movie, because I thought she might have had a stroke or something before it was made. I'm totally not kidding. I was surprised how old it is; I was thinking it was much newer because it doesn't look dated. She is an excellent actress. I don't understand this role choice at all.
