I know that the names Felice gave one another, Aimee and Jaguar were pet names, but I wonder if these had any kind of special meaning or context in the German language? Such as kitten and cougar, for example? Does anyone know?

If I remember correctly, "Aimee" was like calling her loved one (from the Latinate languages like French/Spanish "amar, amor, etc...). Jaguar was in reference to her being like a jungle cat, a little bit wild and unpredictable. But I haven't read the book in over 2 years, so don't quote me.
