Fan, after the fact

A lot of people talk about how the die-hard fans of The State watched it when they were young, grew up with it, and had this nostalgic view of what it was instead of what it actually was. And that's usually the argument for "why it's so popular but just not funny." I am 18 years old, I was born a year after The State on MTV ended. I discovered it about 2 years ago and I am a die-hard fan. Initially I was a huge fan of Stella, which led me to discover The State. I'm a pretty big comedy nerd and I just think they have an awesome sensibility and it's always great to see where some of the great minds in comedy today started. I think good sketch comedy lasts, and a lot of the sketches in The State last. I just felt like dropping by and disproving the argument that all fans of The State grew up watching it.

Where are you finding episodes? I grew up with The State, I'm one of those life long die hard fans and I'm always telling my husband about it!

I found them on Hulu and then bought the DVD release. :)
