Why only pick those 7 people to kill?
When I am sure the school had hundreds of sinners 10 years after graduation! Was the killer a male Carrie like reject who was bullied or something? The movie shoould have explained it.

Think: Seven Deadly Sins. At least if I remember correctly they were trying for that as chosen by The Redeemer, and a mixture of all the "devil" films that came out around that time and they were jumping on the bandwagon of sorts, but with a more..ahem..religious message...that wasn't really one.
